Deer Park Road, Hucclecote

Deer Park Road was a hardstanding piece of land within Hucclecote and is currently home to 25 garages. This piece of land is extremely underutilized and could be used to make a noticeable difference in the community. This site is one of four new build developments for Gloucester City Homes in and around Gloucester.

The new site will be home to the following:

2 x two-bedroom bungalows
3 x one-bedroom bungalows
10 x parking spaces

The site currently provides vehicular access to the neighbouring church. The new development has been sensitively designed with this in mind and will continue to provide access as an adequate turning area. Deer Park Road development has been designed to enhance the local vernacular; this will be achieved through the use of red and buff bricks and grey concrete roof tiles.

Work on the development started in early 2020 and was completed on time in November 2020.

Lichfield Road, Cathedral City

Lichfield Road in the Coney Hill area was previously an old garage site as well as providing car parking for the neighbouring properties. This site is one of four new developments we are building for Gloucester City Homes around Gloucester to put new affordable homes out there to help the growing need.

The development contains the following:

- 1 x two-bedroom bungalow
- 3 x two-bedroom terraced houses
- 2 x parking spaces per household

- Parking for neighbouring homes

The site has been designed to fit in with the surrounding properties. This has been achieved by using red brick and cream render making it in keeping with the surrounding area. As part of this site held parking space on for the neighbouring homes as part of the development, we have refurbished the parking area. We have tarmacked the area providing parking for the existing homes as we as re-landscaping the green area with turf and trees.

Work on the development commenced in winter 2020 and came to completion in October 2020.

Headlam Close, Tuffley

Headlam Close development was formally accommodated by multiple garage blocks until they were later demolished. For the past few years, the site has been a caravan/ campervan store.

A welcome replacement of 3 modern terraced houses will occupy the site for Gloucester City Homes. This site is 1 of 4 new development within Gloucester for Gloucester City where we are replacing unused garage sites with new affordable housing, helping to alleviate the housing need in the area.

The current unused piece of land has been replaced with:

- 3 x two-bedroom terraced houses
- 6 x parking bays

Gardens to the rear of all properties

Work on the site commenced in the Autumn of 2019 and was completed and handed over to GCH in July 2020. There was a slight delay in the completion of this development due to COVID-19 but once Aqua opened back up in mid-may after shutting down we worked as hard as possible to get this completed and handed over to the new owners as soon as possible.

Parklands, Quedgeley

Parklands site was previously an underutilised garage site/ hardstanding piece of land in Quedgeley. This site is 1 of 4 new developments in Gloucester in which we are developing underused garage sites/ areas into new affordable homes for Gloucester City Homes.

Parklands garage site has been replaced by the following:

2 x one-bedroom bungalows
1 x two-bedroom bungalows
2 x parking spaces per property

This development is neighbouring a school so has been sensitively designed with this in mind. Bungalows were chosen instead of houses due to them not being overbearing nor overlooking on the adjacent school. Bungalows are always very future proof homes, as they can be modified to suit every different person.

Work on the development commenced in Autumn 2019 and was completed in May 2020.

Dauncey Close, Wotton-Under-Edge

Aqua Construction is starting work at a site off Fountain Crescent in Wotton-under-Edge, on a new affordable housing development for Fortis Living. The site has been vacant for a considerable time now and local councillors have welcomed the development as a great use of empty land and an injection of desperately needed affordable housing for the town. The development consists of:

4 x one-bedroom flats
14 x two-bedroom houses
4 x three bedroom houses

The houses and flats will be a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership.

As this development is located in the Cotswold’s, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the new development has been designed to complement its surrounding buildings. The materials used the construct the new homes will be similar in style to the houses in the surrounding area.

Wotton-under-Edge is famous for the number of pubs and taverns that existed in the town, thanks to its position on the old London-Cardiff trading route. Fountain Crescent is named after the Fountain Inn, which used to stand opposite the mouth of the road. Subsequently converted to a private house, Richard Dauncey lived there for many years. Meanwhile, Samuel Dauncey was the first landlord of the Earl Grey, another pub that used to back on to the development site. Therefore, Dauncey Close will become the name of the development’s new road.

Work on the development started in Autumn 2018 and was completed on time on January 30th, 2020.
