As an award-winning construction company, we are looking for a competent, self-motivated, hardworking, and knowledgeable Groundworker who can complete a wide and varied range of jobs alongside our busy team on sites in and around Gloucester. Aqua Construction operates sites up to 40 miles from our purpose-built offices situated between Elmore and Quedgeley.

Plant, Fleet & Small Tools Co-ordinator

Location: Quedgeley, Gloucester, Gloucestershire (GL2)
Reports to: Operations Manager 
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Dependant on experience

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive co-ordinator to oversee the maintenance, servicing, compliance, safety and day to day operation of the company’s excavators, dumpers, small tools, vans, site containers and hired in plant. To ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard and compliant with health, safety and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Plant & Machinery (Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers etc)

  • Plan and oversee servicing schedules, LOLER inspections and repair
  • Maintain accurate service records and history.
  • Coordinate breakdown response and mobile fitters
  • Manage wearing parts, buckets, tracks, pins etc
  • Monitor telemetric system, fuel use and operator behaviour

Company Vehicles

  • Arrange MOTs, servicing and ongoing maintenance
  • Oversee fleet insurance, tax and driver compliance
  • Manage fleet tracking, fuel cards and driver standards

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all plant meets legal and H&S requirements
  • Keep LOLER/PUWER/PAT records up to date
  • Support site teams with safe use and defect reporting

Procurement

  • Maintain relationships with hire companies, fitters and parts suppliers
  • Obtain quotes for repair, servicing and replacements
  • Recommend new plant purchase based on usage and condition

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience maintaining construction plant & small tools mainly civils – groundworks
  • Mechanical knowledge an advantage
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and manage multiple assets
  • Good IT skills, SharePoint, telematics etc
  • Understanding of LOLER, PUWER and H&S compliance
  • Clean driving licence, towing experience advantage
