Northway Lane, Ashchruch in Tewkesbury was an affordable housing development for Severn Vale Housing. Within this area, we have developed 30 new homes across 5 different sites.
Previously, the 5 sites were disused, old pieces of land. Some containing dilapidated garages and 1 being home to a dilapidated, redundant youth club. All of the sites were having a detrimental impact on the overall character of the area, through containing unsightly and some even hazardous buildings. We have been able to redevelop these 5 sites into the much needed affordable housing for the local area.
The different sites consisted of the following:
Northway Lane Phase 1:
• 1 x four-bedroom bungalow • 4 x three-bedroom houses • 6 x one-bedroom flats
• 2 x two-bedroom houses • 1 x six-bedroom house
Northway Lane Phase 2:
• 4 x one-bedroom flats • 6 x two-bedroom houses • 1 x two-bedroom bungalow
Ash Road:
• 1 x two-bedroom bungalow
St Barbara’s:
• 2 x three-broom houses
Lanes Court:
• 2 x two-bedroom bungalows
It was the design teams aim to create a development which reflected the local vernacular of Northway. This was achieved through the use of facing brickwork, interlocking concrete roof tiles and grey aluminium windows.
Work on these developments commenced in the summer of 2012 and was completed and handed over to Severn Vale Housing in August 2013..
