Painswick Road is one of our developments in partnership with Gloucester City Homes within Gloucester. The site was formerly occupied by a bungalow until the more recent years where it has become an overgrown area of land. This is one of a number of underutilised sites in Gloucester which Gloucester City Homes are regenerating.
The development consists of:
- 4 x two-bedroom bungalows
- All including a spacious kitchen-diner
- 10 x parking spaces
- All sold on a shared ownership basis
Painswick Road was 1 of 5 developments in GCH’s first phase of the development of brownfield sites in Matson. The material specification for this phase included red bricks, render and grey slate roof tiles. This material specification was chosen to give the new developments their own identity; whilst setting a precedent for future developments to come.
The bungalows were built with a fabric first approach in mind, as the design team saw this as the most appropriate response to carbon reduction. This means physically less carbon is used which is seen as a more efficient and future proof system to ensure low carbon use.
Work on site commenced in Autumn 2015 and was completed on budget and ahead of the programme in Spring 2016.
