Parkend Road is a development for Two Rivers Housing to provide the locals of Bream, with the much needed affordable social housing. It was part of Two Rivers Housing’s programme to build high quality, energy-efficient homes in the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire areas.
Formally 4 large semi-detached houses stood on the site all with extensively overgrown gardens, large trees and bushes. In one garden there were many old, abandoned cars with contaminated subsoils.
These homes were demolished in order to make room for the new development, which consisted of:
- 8 x two-bedroom houses
- 5 x two-bedroom bungalows
Work on the development started in June 2016 and was completed and handed over on time and on budget to Two Rivers on April 12th 2017.
Parkend Road was shortlisted as a finalist in the LABC Awards 2018. It received a spot in the category for Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development.
